Did Webcam Sex kill the Phone Sex Star?

Phone Sex

Can webcam and phone sex both succeed, or will one thrive at the expense of the other?

Has the unprecedented growth of the webcam sex industry cannibalized phone sex sales? On the surface, this might seem the case, but I think there’s more to the story than meets the eye. Let’s look at this issue from both the consumer and performer point of view.

The large majority of cyber sex consumers are men. Men a visual beast; it’s not their fault, it’s coded in their DNA. This is especially true of men who are in their prime. Given this fact, one would expect that very few would bother with phone sex when a more visual experience is just a skype call away. But the wild card here is demographics and economics. As men age, their sexual desires and needs change. They’ll want to seek out more cerebral and intimate cyber sex experiences. They’ll also want to find women willing to share and explore their sexual fantasies in a safe, consensual and anonymous environment.

While webcam sex offers great visuals (and don’t get us wrong, we love watching cam girls!), it can sometimes be lacking in intimacy. Telephone conversations are very intimate in nature. Hearing the other persons voice and listening to their stories and fantasies can be very fulfilling. It’s incredible how open women are about their personal sex lives when they know they’re sharing their stories in complete anonymity. I love to close my eyes, listen to a woman’s voice, and imagine what she might look like. I also like to ask them the most intimate of questions, and share my own lurid fantasies. Yes, it may not be visual, but it sure is fulfilling. Your imagination is a wonderful implement, and phone sex helps you use it in ways you would otherwise miss out on, even with webcam sex.

Which leads to the performers. Yes, women can earn more by being webcam models, but let’s face it, it’s a competitive industry and not everyone is comfortable with sharing their personal sexuality in such an open fashion. Phone sex allows women to connect with their male clients in a relatively secure and anonymous fashion. Yes, the income is lower, but they can still earn between $60 to $100 per hour, which is nothing to sneeze at. Phone sex is also a great way for women to get a feel for the adult industry before plunging in head first. And we all know, if men are visual beast, women are by their very nature great conversationalists!

My favorite phone sex site is MyPhoneSite.com. I don’t want to talk to some professional phone sex operator who does nothing but project fake moans for money. I want to talk to real women, of all ages, who are working from home and looking to make a few extra dollars. Real amateurs who want to talk about their sex lives, and who will let you ask them just about anything. And I also want a reputable phone sex provider that offers quality service at an affordable rate.

MyPhoneSite.com is great. Their directory features hundreds of real women who will cater to just about every sexual fetish you can imagine. And with rates starting as low as $1 per minute, you can make a single deposit and talk to dozens of girls in a single evening. Best of all, first time callers get $6 added to their accounts for free!

So tell us what you think? Is phone sex dead, or is it about to make a comeback?

  2. Nice article. Though men would love to watch webcam girls, I don’t think the business of webcam sex has killed the phone sex star. You have rightly said that women would like to maintain the security and safety while dealing with their clients over the phone than in webcam. Moreover the sensual voice of a woman over telephone is much more enjoyable than to watch them in cameras.
